How busy is Hase-dera?
Hase-dera is a hillside temple overlooking Sagami Bay, home to an 11-faced Kannon statue over 9 m tall, one of the largest wooden statues in Japan. It's calm most of the year, but in hydrangea season, its slope of around 2,500 hydrangeas becomes one of Kamakura's busiest spots.
