A simple rope-drop plan

Arrive 45-60 minutes before official opening. Security, the ferry or monorail and the tap-in gates all take time.
Staying on Disney property? Use Early Theme Park Entry. Disney hotel guests get in 30 minutes early, the best time for the big rides.
Ride one headliner you didn't buy a Lightning Lane for while the lines are short.
Book your Multi Pass times for late morning and early afternoon, when standby lines are at their worst.
Watch the parade from the back, or skip it and ride: lines drop while everyone's watching.
Use fireworks time for a last headliner, or watch them and leave just before the end.

Best (and worst) times to go

Day of the week: Tuesday to Thursday is usually lighter. Mondays are often among the busiest days at Magic Kingdom.
Party days are a secret weapon. On Halloween (Mickey's Not-So-Scary) and Christmas (Mickey's Very Merry) party days, the park closes early to day guests, so daytime crowds are lighter. The non-party days around them are busier.
Worst: Christmas to New Year (the park can hit capacity), Thanksgiving week, spring break and US public holidays.
Better months: late January to February outside holidays, late August to September, and early December weekdays.
