How to Skip the Line at Sugarloaf Mountain
Buy your cable car ticket online on the official Bondinho site to skip the ticket booth (about R$160 for adults, half price for eligible visitors). Sunset is the busiest time, so go up 1.5-2 hours before sunset to beat the queue and stay for the view, or go at opening on a weekday for the quietest visit. Pick a clear day.

How long are the lines at Sugarloaf?
The cable car goes up in two stages, first to Morro da Urca, then to the summit of Pão de Açúcar. Around sunset, the queues at the base station in Praia Vermelha and for the second cable car can be long, and coming down after dark can mean another wait. On weekday mornings, it's much quicker.
