How to Beat the Crowds at Fisherman's Bastion
Most of Fisherman's Bastion is free. Only the upper towers charge (about 1,700 HUF in the daytime), and they're free outside ticketed hours. So the best hack is to go at sunrise, when it's empty, free and the light on the Parliament is beautiful. By 10 am in summer, the terraces are packed.

How busy is Fisherman's Bastion?
Fisherman's Bastion, the fairytale terrace on Castle Hill, has the classic view across the Danube to the Parliament. From mid-morning, tour groups fill the arcades and there's a queue at the little ticket kiosk for the upper towers. Everyone wants the same photo, so it gets crowded fast.
