How to Beat the Crowds at the Egyptian Museum, Cairo

Arrive at the 9 am opening and buy your ticket at the gate or on the official Egyptian monuments site (around EGP 450 for foreigners). Tour groups arrive from mid-morning. Many of the most famous treasures, including Tutankhamun's collection, have moved to the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, so the Tahrir museum is now often calmer than it used to be.
