How to Beat the Crowds at Ragunan Zoo
Ragunan is very cheap (about Rp4,000 for adults), so the crowds can be huge, especially on weekends and holidays. Buy your ticket online on the official site to skip the counter queue, and note that counters only take JakCard, not cash. Arrive early in the morning on a weekday, and remember the zoo is closed on Mondays.

How busy is Ragunan Zoo?
Ragunan is one of the oldest and largest zoos in Southeast Asia, and Jakarta's favourite family day out. On long weekends it can welcome tens of thousands of visitors a day, and over Lebaran it can reach hundreds of thousands. The queues are at the ticket counters, the car parks and the paid attractions inside.
