How long are the queues at Europa-Park?

Europa-Park sits right where Germany, France and Switzerland meet, so it gets three countries' worth of school holidays. On a busy summer Saturday the big coasters (Silver Star, Blue Fire, Wodan, Voltron) build long queues by late morning. On an ordinary weekday in May, June or September, visitors often find most waits short, with only the headliners passing 30 minutes.

The park even prices this in: the cheaper ticket tier applies on quieter weekdays, and the higher one on weekends, school holidays and public holidays.

Date your ticket before you go

Undated tickets must be registered for a date on the Europa-Park website before your visit. Otherwise there's a fee at the gate.

A simple plan for shorter queues

Be at the gates before opening with your dated ticket on your phone.

Ride Blue Fire first. Many people race to Silver Star at opening, so Blue Fire's queue stays shorter early on.

Then go straight to Wodan, whose entrance is opposite Blue Fire's exit.

Put your next headliner in the Virtual Line while you walk to the next area.

Do shows, lunch and the smaller rides from about 12 to 3 pm, and save one or two coasters for the last hour.

Best (and worst) times to go

Best: weekdays in May, June and September, outside school holidays.

Worst: summer weekends, Whitsun and Easter holidays, and German and French public holiday long weekends.

Halloween and winter seasons: popular at weekends, but weekdays in November and early December can be pleasantly quiet (with shorter opening hours).
