How to Beat the Crowds at the Rhine Falls
The viewing platforms below Schloss Laufen cost just CHF 5 (online tickets are valid until 6 pm). The queue to watch is for the summer boat rides to the rock in the middle of the falls, which build from late morning. Go early in the day on a weekday, ideally in June or July, when the water flow is at its strongest.

How busy are the Rhine Falls?
The Rhine Falls are Europe's most powerful waterfall, about 45 minutes from Zurich. On summer weekends, coach tours arrive from late morning, and the walkways to the platforms at Schloss Laufen and the boat landing stages get queues. The Neuhausen side, with free paths along the river, is usually calmer.
Before you go, check how busy the Rhine Falls are likely to be. BeatTheCrowd shows the live crowd level and an hourly forecast for any date, adjusted for Swiss holidays, school breaks and weather.
