Why is it so hard to get into the Anne Frank House?
The Secret Annex, where Anne Frank and her family hid, is small, and visitor numbers are strictly limited. All tickets are sold online for timed slots, mostly in a weekly release six weeks ahead. Once a day is sold out, there's no queue to join, so the real 'skip the line' is booking at the right moment.
Before you book, check how busy the area around the Anne Frank House is likely to be. BeatTheCrowd shows the live crowd level and an hourly forecast for any date, adjusted for Dutch holidays, school breaks and weather.

- Work out the release date. Tickets for any given week go on sale on the Tuesday six weeks earlier, at 10 am Amsterdam time.
- Be on annefrank.org before 9:55 am with your preferred times in mind.
- Pick quickly. If the 9 am slots are gone, go straight for an evening slot instead of refreshing.
- Book for everyone at once, with the correct number of tickets.
