How to Skip the Line at Belém Tower
Since reopening in May after restoration, Belém Tower uses half-hour timed slots capped at about 900 visitors a day, and walk-ups get turned away on busy weekends. Book a slot online (about €15), choose a weekday morning, and remember it's closed on Mondays, like the nearby Jerónimos Monastery.

How long are the lines at Belém Tower?
Belém Tower is small, with a single narrow spiral staircase, which is why numbers are limited. Before the restoration, queues regularly reached an hour. Now, with timed slots, the wait is short if you've booked, but slots sell out on weekends and in summer, and the staircase still runs on a traffic-light system.
