How to Skip the Line at Pena Palace, Sintra
Book a timed palace ticket online on parquesdesintra.pt (walk-up queues can reach 3 hours in peak season), choose the first slot of the day and take an early train from Lisbon's Rossio station. Aim to reach the park gate about an hour before your slot: the palace is a steep walk uphill from the entrance, and your time applies to the interior. Skip bus 434 if the queue is long.

How long are the lines at Pena Palace?
Pena is the most visited sight in Sintra, and on busy days there are three queues to beat: bus 434 up from Sintra station, the ticket desk (up to 3 hours at peak, without a booking), and the shuffle through the palace's narrow rooms. With an online timed ticket, you'll skip the ticket desk and enter the palace at your time.
